Loveland Academy also has a program to work with persons with disabilities. If you have a disability, you will follow all the procedures listed above, except that you will also go through a mini vocational assessment by our staff (for a separate fee) to determine eligibility for the career path you have chosen. After the assessment, you will be told whether or not you will need to go through prevocational training prior to beginning your vocational program.
As part of your assessment, you may be asked to bring former IEPs and prior assessments for our staff to review. You will be asked about your work history and your work goals. You will also be asked about any problems you may have had getting, keeping and learning a job. Consider your strengths, resources, abilities, capabilities, concerns, and interests prior to your assessment so you can share these with staff. If you will need 1:1 assistance to complete the program, please bring that person with you to your assessment.
After your assessment, you will be informed of your eligibility to receive services within two weeks, unless more information is needed to determine eligibility.
